Studio Policies

  1. The session fee pays for the time and talent of the photographer only and does not include any finished portraits or images. The session fee is due prior to your portrait session to hold your appointment date. You may pay by cash, check or credit card.
  2. If you have a sick child on the day of the session please call to reschedule. If you try to keep the appointment, we will most likely request that you reschedule if we notice your child is sick. Sick children do not like to be photographed and we know that you will not love your portraits nearly as much as if he or she were in good health.
  3. Please arrive on time! Out of courtesy to the photographer and other families who may have an appointment following yours, it is important that you are prompt.
  4. Please bring only the people to be photographed. In the case of children, parents are of course welcome. We do ask that if other members of the family or friends are brought to the studio that they hang out in the front waiting area or the couch/play area.
  5. You will come into the studio to order your portraits. Please bring all decision-makers to the ordering session. If distant family members want photos but will not be in attendance, please find out ahead of time the size image they would like.
  6. The studio ordering software allows us to show you what your portraits will look like in your home. Please send snapshots of your walls in any location that you might place portraits. Please place a piece of 8.5×11 paper on the wall so that the room can be accurately calibrated for exact measurements.
  7. If you do not plan to order images for extended family members, an optional proofing gallery of your favorite images can be loaded for up to 14 days following your ordering appointment. Portraits ordered online will be delivered directly to the person ordering.
  8. While we do capture many images during your session, you will see only those images selected by the artist for previewing. Each image is carefully rendered by the artist to ensure maximum artistry and technical perfection. Images with eyes closed, heads turned, duplicates, etc. will not be shown and are removed from our archives permanently after the artist rendering is complete. We always strive for excellence!
  9. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to be completed. Some larger orders and specialty products may take longer. Your portraits are an investment and an heirloom that should not be rushed. You will be notified by email, telephone or text when your order is ready for pickup.
  10. If you are unable to pick up your order, we can ship your order to you for an additional charge. Frames from the lab can be shipped. Frames from the local frame company cannot be shipped.
  11. Due to the custom nature of our work, payment for your order must be placed in full and is subject to a 50% cancellation fee should you change your mind about an order after it is placed. Payments may be made in cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or through the K Thaemert Photography Credit Plan.
  12. All images are kept on file for a period of 2 years but due to the nature of digital storage media are not guaranteed. Orders placed more than 90 days after the photo session, are subject to a $50 retrieval fee and require a minimum $150 reorder.
  13. The Copyright Act protects photographers by giving us the exclusive right to reproduce our photographs. Violations include, but are not limited to: making illegal copies, scanning, printing from home or downloading from our the internet. It is illegal to copy or reproduce these photographs in any manner without our permission and violators of this Federal Law will be subject to its civil and criminal penalties. Please understand, we wish to maintain complete control over the print quality, finishes and presentation of our images and any reproduction outside of our studio may lower the quality of the image and scar our reputation for superior portraits.
